The People… The Founder of APP

Aloha Parenting Project (APP) was founded in 2007 by Mike Gabbard, Hawaii State Senator for District 19, which stretches from Ko 'Olina to Waikele on 'Oahu. He previously served as a Honolulu City Councilman from 2003 - 2005.

Mike and his wife Carol, a former Board of Education member, are both lifelong educators and small business people. They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren and have been mentoring couples and counseling families for years.

Through Aloha Parenting Project, the Gabbard duo is taking what they've learned in 40 years of marriage, child rearing, and helping others to get the word out to parents across the state who are seeking to strengthen their ohana.
